Hi, I’m Laura!
Laura Sigley Photography was officially born in 2013, but the dream started after the birth of my son many years before that. After his birth, I became a stay at home mom and realized just how much I loved documenting every moment of his and my daughter’s lives in scrapbooks. What a huge difference gorgeous photos made in that process!
I bought a DSLR camera and started learning. I soaked up all the knowledge I could about photography. My kids sooooo enjoyed modeling for me! (Insert a little sarcastic tone here.) My sister declared that it is a blessing AND a curse to have a photographer in the family. Ha!
Very quickly it became apparent to me that maternity, newborn, and children photography are where my heart is. Now that my children are grown I realize just how quickly it all passes by. I want all moms to have the memories of their little babies preserved for a lifetime. Oh, how special these memories become when the years fly by and you forget how tiny their little hands and feet were, the feel of their little breath in your neck, or warm snuggles in the mornings.
I am a licensed and insured maternity, newborn, and children’s photographer with my studio located in Port Charlotte, FL.
I am a Qualified Newborn Photographer and certified in baby safety through Accredited Professional Newborn Photographers International and received my accreditation in the Posed Newborn Category. I was featured in a piece on the ABC 7 Ft. Myers news channel on baby safety.
Here are some facts about me:
I grew up in a small town in the hills of WV.
I received a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from West Virginia University in 1995.
That same year I got married and over the years we have lived in Tallhahassee, Florida, Maryland, back to WV again, and now permanently in North Port, Florida. Soon we’ll be celebrating our 26th anniversary!
My main claim to fame is that my son was 11 pounds at birth! And yes, I had a c-section. ;) Oh, how I love chunky babies!
Most importantly, I love Jesus and am so thankful for His love and mercy!
